Profile: Kathryn Hobgood Ray
I’m the founder of Bienville Ray Digital Media & Communications. I have over thirteen years of experience developing digital media and communications strategies, having worked as both a journalist and a web/public relations professional. Born and raised in Louisiana, I have an extended network of friends, family, business associates, and media contacts throughout the state.
I have a special interest in technology, and formed Bienville Ray to focus on the unique public relations needs of the tech community. I’m excited about building a growing client list in Louisiana, the “Silicon Bayou,” where developers of mobile apps, video games, and other technologies are becoming a real community.
I’m also a musician and music historian especially passionate about Louisiana’s music community. Check out the archive of my old online music journal NeonBridge. For more about my current research, visit http://snoozerquinn.com.
I’ve contributed to SB Magazine, VisitSouth.com, New Wave, Tulane Magazine, Jazz Archivist, and more, and worked as a radio host and content producer for NPR’s Red River Radio. As an assistant director in the Office of Marketing and Communications at Tulane University, I’ve worked on numerous special projects and award-winning public relations and web communications campaigns. I was part of a team awarded the Silver Anvil by the Public Relations Society of America, the highest honor in the PR industry.
